The SmartLav+ easily attaches to the talent, who can connect it to a smartphone or tablet’s headset jack and begin recording with RØDE Rec for iOS or any other audio app of their choosing. This microphone features an expert omni-directional condenser capsule, ensuring that sound is captured equally from all directions for greater flexibility when mounting and straightforward operation.

The SmartLav+ also comes with a foam pop shield to minimize wind noise and vocal plosives, such as hard ‘b,’ ‘t,’ and ‘p’ sounds, as well as a long-lasting mounting clip with built-in cable management. Additionally, its Kevlar® reinforced cable prevents stretching or snapping under standard use conditions.

This microphone is compatible with any audio app that accepts input from the headset connection, but it pairs especially well with RØDE Rec app  for Apple iOS devices. This app transforms the user’s iOS device into a fully-featured field recorder, with a broad range of equalization presets for various recording scenarios, professional editing functions, and the ability to publish directly to SoundCloud and Dropbox from the app.
